Braintree Committee Announces July 4 Parade, Celebration Date
New attractions and events have been added as the committee expands its fun-filled family event.

From Braintree's July 4 Celebration Committee: The Braintree July 4th Celebration Committee is pleased to announce that the date of the 44th Annual Braintree Day: Independence Day Celebration will be Saturday, July 1, 2017. The Stars and Stripes Parade will step off at 11:45 AM from the parking lot of the Registry of Motor Vehicles/Bay Shore Athletic Club, 10 Plain Street and proceed north on Washington St and end at the Hollis School, 482 Washington St.
This year, the committee in conjunction with the town, is planning an extensive “family program” with a food festival, music for all generations, and fireworks.
A “food truck rodeo” will be held at Braintree High School, 128 Town St, Braintree, during the celebration program beginning at 2 PM after the parade has concluded. Over 25 diverse food trucks from all over New England will be on hand to offer something for everyone’s appetite. Each truck will offer a variety of menu price options with three different levels that can fit into any family’s budget.

“The committee has been busy at work planning and making the necessary preparations for our 44th Annual Independence Day Celebration. We are excited about some new events and activities that will make this family event even more fun for all. It’s one of the best days of the year.” committee chair Sean Powers said.
The committee will not be hosting a carnival with midway games and rides but will instead be offering more activities and attractions that will either be free of charge or priced so that all can participate and enjoy. Updates and additions to the day’s program and activities will be updated on the committee’s website at www.braintrees4th.org.
