Braintree Coronavirus Rates Fall, As State Sees Improvement

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree's coronavirus metrics headed in the right direction, coinciding with improvements state wide, according to the latest municipal-level data released by the Department of Public Health Thursday.
The positive test rate in Braintree was 22.96 percent, which is well above the statewide rate of 15.03 percent over the same period. Still, this signified improvement, since the positive test rate last week was 23.35 percent.

The town had 1,556 cases in the last two weeks, or 283 daily cases per 100,000 residents.
Both the positive rate and the case total decreased from last week's report.

The state also reported that Braintree has 77 percent of its residents fully vaccinated, up slightly from the previous week, but the real difference came with how many more residents got the booster. More than 40 percent of Braintree residents have gotten the booster, a 2.4 percent increase from the previous week.
