Braintree High Kicks off 'Kismet' Performances, Women's Club, Drawing Group
5 Things: A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Nov. 7, 2013.

1. The Braintree High School Theatre Guild presents Kismet, directed by Rolf I. Carlson. The performances start Thursday night at 7 p.m. Click here for more information and dates.
2. The Teen Afterschool Drawing Group meets at Thayer Public Library from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Young Adult Room.
3. The Braintree Women's Club November Meeting is at 7 p.m. at the Sons of Italy Hall.

5. Colorado became the first state to let women vote with the passage of a referendum on this day in 1893. Then in 1916 on this day, Republican Jeannette Rankin of Montana became the first woman elected to Congress. In 1944, FDR won his 4th term, defeating Thomas Dewey in the presidential contest. After failing to secure the California governship, on this day in 1962, Richard Nixon said the infamous, "You won't have Nixon to kick around anymore."
