BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree is readying to kick off the winter holiday season with Thanksgiving now nearly a week in the rearview mirror.That season gets underway on Thursday with the town's annual tree lighting and, following the lighting, the first day of Braintree's newly launched Festival of Trees.The tree lighting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Thursday at Town Hall. The event will feature carol from the Braintree High School Choir and a visit from Santa Claus.From the tree lighting, residents and locals can move inside to the Festival of Trees.
