Braintree Launches 'Blue Bag Campaign' For Community Trash Cleanup
A volunteer-driven cleanup date yielded 75 bags of trash from around the Union Street rotary, but officials hope that's just the start.
BRAINTREE, MA — Fifteen volunteers took to the streets of Braintree over the weekend armed with blue trash bags.
This was part of a new cleanup initiative implemented by the town, and the first volunteer-driven date yielded 75 bags of trash from around the Union Street rotary.
Though this first cleanup was an organized effort, the campaign is actually aimed at making it simple for residents to help clean up trash on their own time.

Blue bags are available at the mayor's office and, of course, can be taken anywhere in town to clean up that area. When bags are full, residents can simply tie them and leave them by the curb for collection.
After leaving them, residents should notify the mayor's office of where they left it and Department of Public Works employees will make a collection.
