Braintree Man Wins $1 Million In MA Lottery

BRAINTREE, MA — A Braintree man can thank a winning lottery ticket for a boost to his wallet this week.

Mark Farina of Braintree is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” instant ticket game, lottery officials announced this week.

Farina will receive a one-time, pre-tax payment of $650,000. What will he use the money for? Farina told officials he'll prioritize home improvements and putting money away for retirement and family.

He purchased his winning ticket at Resendes Market, 960 Washington St., in Braintree. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
