The Town Council has also confirmed Frederick “Freddie” T. Viola as Braintree’s next Fire Chief. Joyce had previously appointed Viola, who had been the acting chief.

"His leadership over the past year has not only maintained stability within the department but has also led to the successful rebuilding of the fire department’s budget and the creation of a strong team to support those ongoing efforts. I am confident that Chief Viola will continue to move the Braintree Fire Department forward in the years ahead," said Joyce.
