Braintree Summer Movie Night Returns This Week

The first of two movie screenings at French's Common in July is scheduled for this week. Here's what to know.

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree will welcome back outdoor movie nights this week.

“Summer Movie Nights” take place at French’s Common next to Braintree Town Hall. The movies are free of charge and include pre-movie entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. with the movie beginning at dusk.

The first of two movies is scheduled for Thursday.

"We are so happy to provide these wonderful and free events to all our residents," said Mayor Charles Kokoros. "It is a great opportunity to come together as a community and enjoy the beauty of our parks and Sunset Lake. I look forward to seeing you all there."

Residents are invited to bring blankets and chairs. “Buck-a-buy” concessions will also be available.

In the event of inclement weather there will be no pre-movie entertainment and the movie will be shown in the Town Hall auditorium at 8 p.m.

This summer's movies are:

  • Thursday, July 13 “The Super Mario Brothers Movie”
  • Thursday, July 20 “Puss In Boots: The Last Wish”
