Braintree Woman Force Fed Kids, Caused Vomiting: Police

Police say Marie Millette held her hand over one child's mouth to force them to eat and held a spoonful of food in another child's mouth.

HINGHAM, MA — A Braintree woman has been accused of force-feeding and shaking young children to the point of vomiting while working as a daycare teacher.

Marie C. Millette, 30, was arraigned in Hingham District Court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to eight counts each of reckless endangerment of a child and assault and battery. She is free on personal recognizance, according to the Patriot Ledger.

Millette worked at the Hingham Bright Horizons for six years but was taken off the job in November 2016 after a teacher reported Millette's alleged behavior to administrators. She was suspended a half-hour after administrators received a report of suspected abuse and was fired two days later.

A state Department of Children and Families determined that Millette allegedly caused a child to vomit by holding a spoonful of food in their mouth for too long, held her hand over another child's mouth while feeding them a hot dog. When a co-worker said the child being forced fed a hot dog couldn't breath, Millette allegedly laughed and replied that she can breathe out of her nose.

Following the DCF report, Bright Horizons held six training sessions to help staff identify and report abuse.
