Braintree's Most Popular Puppy Names Revealed
As Braintree pet owners get ready to relicense their pals, the town released the top puppy names. Did your pooch's name make the cut?

BRAINTREE, MA — The Braintree Town Clerk's Office is reminding all town dog owners that the deadline for licensing their pets is approaching in the coming months.
All dogs in Braintree require a new license every year. The 2022 dog licensing period will run from April 1 until June 30. All renewal requests either in-person or by mail must be submitted by this time to avoid a late fee. The licenses will be valid from April 1 through March 31, 2023.
To bring attention to the licensing alert, Patch asked Town Clerk Jim Casey for data on licensed dogs in town. And to get a sense of what some of the most popular dog names are in Braintree at this current time, we put together a list of the most popular puppy names.

For the purpose of this list, puppies were defined as any dog born between Jan. 1, 2021 and Thursday.
The most popular male puppy name was Cooper, with four little canine critters in town with them name. Cooper has remained a popular dog name in town, with 52 of the town's nearly 5,500 registered dogs having the name.

The most popular female puppy name was Gracie, also with four. There are 19 registered dogs in Braintree with the name Gracie.
The information also provided the most popular dog breeds for puppies. Out of the 198 newly registered pups, the top breeds were Labrador Retriever coming in first with 19 in Braintree, Golden Retriever with 11 registered, and the German Shepherd, coming in third with 10 registered.
