Braintree's Widowmaker Brewing Hosting Oktoberfest Celebration At Quincy Beer Garden

QUINCY, MA — The Oktoberfest season is officially upon us, and a number of Massachusetts breweries, bars and restaurants are planning to celebrate.

At Braintree's Widowmaker Brewing, the company is set to host a celebration at their Kilroy Square Beer Garden in Quincy.

The event is scheduled for Sept. 29 starting at 12 p.m., with a steinholding contest scheduled for 6 p.m. and a pretzel eating contest at 7 p.m.

The traditional German Oompah band the Tubafrau Hofbräu Band will also perform at the Oktoberfest celebration.

Widowmaker will also offer an Oktoberfest stein-and-fill promotion for $15, including the first pour, officials said.

Refills of Witwenmacher Marzen-Style Lager in the take-home stein are just $8. A bonus for those hoping to stay in Braintree? The promotion will be available at all Widowmaker locations on Sept. 29.
