Car Break-Ins Reported In Braintree Neighborhood
The string of break-ins started in a neighboring community and carried over to a Braintree neighborhood, officials said.

BRAINTREE, MA — Police in Braintree have issued some tips for the public after weekend car break-ins.
Police said several vehicle break-ins were reported over the weekend on Old Carriage Lane, which started in a neighboring community.
"Please stay alert — summer is the peak season for car theft, and thieves are targeting more than just vehicles themselves," officials said, in a statement.

Police said items that are commonly stolen include airbags and other vehicle parts, cell phones, laptops, purses and GPS units.
They also included a list of simple tips to help limit the risk:

- Park in well-lit, busy areas
- Lock all doors and windows
- Hide all valuables — even empty bags — in the trunk
- Never leave your keys inside the vehicle, not even at gas stations
- Don’t leave your car running unattended
- Use your key fob to lock vehicles with immobilizers
- Consider adding anti-theft devices like a wheel lock or GPS tracker
