Double G's Pizza Closed After 6 Decades In Braintree
Ownership said they were unable to negotiate a lease extension for their space, prompting the restaurant to close.

BRAINTREE, MA — A lease negotiation is to blame for the closure of a beloved Braintree pizzeria that's been open since the 1960s.
First reported by MassLive and confirmed by Double G's Pizzeria on social media, the longtime restaurant sold its last pie on Feb. 28.
"Our lease expired and, unfortunately, we were unable to negotiate an extension," ownership said. "We would like to take this opportunity to thank our incredibly loyal customers, who it was our great pleasure and good fortune to serve for the past five years, for their support, patronage, and friendship."
