Driver In Fatal Braintree Crash Faces New Vehicular Homicide Charge
A Holbrook man had the charge added after one of the people injured in the head-on crash died at a Boston hospital in December.
BRAINTREE, MA — The Massachusetts man involved in an alleged drunken head-on crash that injured multiple people, and killed one, faces a new charge after a recent court date.
Ryan Gorman, 39, of Holbrook, was arraigned on Jan. 2 on a new charge of motor vehicle homicide while driving under the influence of alcohol. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, and has a court date on March 6.
Alexia Nixon, of Weymouth, died at Boston Medical Center nine days after the wreck, officials said.

She was a passenger in a SUV struck by an alleged drunken driver around 12:50 a.m. on Dec. 1 near 655 Union St. The 18-year-old driver of the SUV and another passenger in his vehicle were hospitalized with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
“The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and Braintree Police Department extend our heartfelt condolences to Alexia’s family,” Morrissey and Braintree Police Chief Timothy Cohoon said.

Gorman originally pleaded not guilty in his hospital bed the following day to three counts of driving under the influence of alcohol causing serious bodily injury, one count of driving negligently so as to endanger and one count of failing to drive within marked lanes. He was released on $5,000 cash bail.
