Braintree Election Results: Collins Leads Norfolk Commissioner Race

BRAINTREE, MA — Peter Collins has a commanding lead in the race for Norfolk County Commissioner, and the Associated Press has declared Stephen Lynch the winner in the race for Congressional District 8.

Here are the numbers in a few races Patch is watching, courtesy of the Associated Press. Races called by the AP will be in bold:

Norfolk County Commissioner

• Peter Collins (D) — 79,367
• Matthew Sheehan (I) —49,016

Massachusetts State Senate Norfolk, Plymouth and Bristol District

• Brian Muello (R) — 14,181
• Walter Timilty (D) — 18,818

Congress U.S. House District 8

• Robert Burke (R) — 59,469
• Stephen Lynch (D) — 136,086

In the Norfolk, Plymouth and Bristol District State Senate race, incumbent Democrat Walter Timilty looks to hold off challenger Brian Muello.

According to Timility, members of the Massachusetts Nurses Association are among those supporting him on Election Day.

"Thank you to my friends at the Massachusetts Nurses Association for holding my signs in Easton this afternoon," he said.
