Long To Become New Braintree Elementary School Principal

BRAINTREE, MA - Caitlin Long, currently a vice principal in the Framingham Public Schools, will become the new principal of Highlands Elementary School in Braintree at the end of the school year, Superintendent James Lee announced this week.

Long worked as the vice principal of Brophy Elementary School in Framingham for the past three years. She previously taught in the Everett school system, where she had extensive experience working with English language learners, according to her school profile.

She pursued her college education at Boston College. She earned a doctorate in education from Boston College there, as well as a master's in secondary education in history and a bachelor's in history and classics. She also was a researcher there.

Long will take over from Nancy Pelletier, who is retiring after 15 years as the Highlands principal.A search for her replacement recently was reopened after the search committee did not find a candidate to recommend in the first round.
