BRAINTREE, MA — One man faces charges after he pulled a knife in what officials described as an attempted carjacking on Sunday.
Braintree police said a 54-year-old man from Quincy was sitting in his car around 8 p.m. in front of a store on Grossman Drive while his family was shopping inside.

Kilburn is said to have fled toward the nearby railroad tracks as he was followed by bystanders. He jumped a fence and ran along the Red Line and Commuter Rail tracks, police said.
When officers arrived, those on the scene directed them to where Kilburn hopped the fence. An officer followed that path, spotting Kilburn "several hundred yards" down the tracks.
A pursuit began, and Kilburn was eventually taken into custody.
He is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed carjacking, witness intimidation and two counts of drug possession.
The victim was treated for his injuries by police on the scene, but was also taken to a Boston-area hospital.
