MLK Jr. Poster Winners to be Recognized Tuesday
Monday Essentials: What's going on this week in Braintree.

Mayor Joseph Sullivan said last week that a Martin Luther King Jr. poster contest is replacing the long-running Peacemaker awards ceremony in honor of the civil rights leader, and that winners of the contest will be honored at the Town Council meeting Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Sullivan said that he wanted to bring the message of Dr. King to a younger set of Braintree residents, and that he plans to expand it beyond elementary students in the years ahead.
This year’s theme is “Do the Right Thing.” Students should illustrate what doing the right thing looks like to them.
Judging will be based on creativity, originality and how the poster presents Dr. King's message.
Basic Guidelines:
• Poster should be no larger than 12’ x 18”.
• Submission deadline is Friday, Jan. 17, 2014.
• Posters should be submitted to your school Principal.
• Winners will be recognized on Jan. 21, 2014.
