Movie Theater Attacker ID'ed, Also Stabbed 2 McDonald's Workers: Reports
The man is thought to have stabbed four young girls and two McDonald's workers, and is also tied to a Connecticut death probe, reports said.
SANDWICH, MA — The man who stabbed four young girls at a Braintree movie theater and two employees at a rest stop McDonald’s on Saturday night has been identified by multiple sources as Jared Ravizza.
Both WFXT and WBTS cited a law enforcement source or sources in naming the attacker and reported that Ravizza is also tied to a death investigation in Deep River, Connecticut. Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz named Ravizza as the attacker in the McDonald's incident, for which Ravizza will face multiple charges, and noted Ravizza is 26 years old and lives in Chilmark.
The first Massachusetts stabbing happened around 6 p.m., when the assailant entered AMC Braintree 10 in the 100 block of Grandview Avenue, passed the ticket counter, went into one of the theaters without paying and stabbed the four girls, unprovoked and without warning, police said. He then fled the theater in a black SUV, according to police.

Around 7 p.m., the attacker approached the drive-thru window of a McDonald’s at the Exit 13 rest area off Route 3 in Plymouth and, following a dispute over payment, stabbed two workers and fled south on Route 3, according to police.
Surveillance video of the restaurant showed that Ravizza stabbed a male victim with a large knife through the drive-thru window, then parked his car and went inside before stabbing a female victim, the district attorney's office said. The employees, both in their 20s, suffered injuries that did not threaten their lives and were brought to hospitals, according to police.
After Ravizza fled the rest stop, state troopers tried to pull over his SUV, but it did not stop and instead crashed, according to police. He was driving a 2018 Porsche Macan and was taken into custody around 7:15 p.m. in Sandwich, the district attorney's office said.
He will face charges in Plymouth District Court on Tuesday, including assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to the district attorney's office.
As of Sunday, Ravizza was at South Shore Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, the district attorney's office said.
The Connecticut incident happened earlier Saturday, with police responding to a Deep River address and finding a dead body around 3:30 p.m., according to authorities, who said a person was taken into custody in Masschusetts in connection with the fatality.
