New York Woman Arrested with Counterfeit Bills

A woman was arrested last week for attempting to pass counterfeit $100 bills at the South Shore Plaza.

A Rosedale, NY, resident was arrested August 8 after allegedly passing counterfeit money at Eddie Bauer at the South Shore Plaza.

Michele Sergeant, 30, was charged with possessing and passing counterfeit money and attempting to commit a crime, according to Braintree Police Chief Russell Jenkins.

Officers responded to Eddie Bauer on Thursday afternoon after Sergeant and an unknown male attempted to make a purchase using two, $100 bills. The sale was declined when the bills were determined to be fake.

Officers detained Sergeant, who still had the counterfeit bills.

Sergeant's male companion, who was not located, passed two counterfeit $100 bills at Children's Place. He was unsuccessful in passing counterfeit money at Eddie Bauer.
