“Blood donation appointments take less than an hour and can help as many as four patients who rely on donations from healthy volunteers,” said Sheriff Patrick McDermott. “Donations directly benefit Boston Children’s patients undergoing cancer treatment, cardiac surgery or transplant, and those with genetic blood disorders and who need regular blood transfusions.”

All blood donors must be 17 years old or age 16 with parental consent and weigh 110 lbs. A photo ID is required to donate blood.

Prior to your appointment, please eat a healthy meal and be well hydrated.

All donors will receive a Halloween T-shirt.
