Over 380 HS Students Attend Annual Student Government Day
The 69th, annual Student Government Day took place Friday, April 1.
From the Office of State Senator John F. Keenan:
The Massachusetts 69th annual Student Government Day was held Friday, April 1. Senator Keenan had six constituents visit the State House, many their first time, of more than 380 high school juniors and seniors.
Established in 1947 under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 6, Section 12M, this program assigns students to assume many roles of state government, including senators, representatives, constitutional officers and Supreme Court justices. Giving students access to the House and Senate Chamber floors, a location normally off limits to anyone other than elected officials, they were able to address their peers in open debate on important topics.
