Positivity Rate For COVID-19 Drops Below 5% In Braintree

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree's coronavirus metrics continued their steep decline. For the first time in about two months, the positivity rate dropped below 5 percent, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health said Thursday.
In Braintree, the positive test rate decreased from 6.73 to 4.44 percent. The state positive test rate was 2.76 percent, as of Thursday.
The town had 136 cases in the last two weeks, or 24.5 daily cases per 100,000 residents.

Both the positive rate and the case total decreased from last week's report.
The state also reported that Braintree has 78.5 percent of its residents fully vaccinated. About 44 percent of Braintree residents have gotten the booster.
