TGI Fridays Closes Braintree Location

This comes after the restaurant chain filed for bankruptcy in November 2024.

BRAINTREE, MA — TGI Fridays has closed another location amid its bankruptcy process, this time close to home.

The 60 Forbes Rd. location in Braintree is permanently closed as of this month, leaving only five locations left in Massachusetts.

This closure comes just months after the chain filed for bankruptcy in a Texas court.

An Associated Press story from November 2024 said the Dallas-based company's Chapter 11 filing in a Texas federal court accelerated a gradual decline for "an iconic chain that was once at the center of American pop culture but has seen its customer base dwindle as tastes changed."

TGI Fridays Executive Chairman Rohit Manocha in a statement said the “primary driver of our financial challenges resulted from COVID-19 and our capital structure.”
