Third Annual Run for Charlotte Set for April 7
The Run for Charlotte will fund research for Neuroblastoma and relief for families fighting cancer.
Last year, the Run for Charlotte brought over 3,000 runners and walkers to the streets of Braintree to raise money for Neuroblastoma research and relief for families fighting cancer in the name of of Charlotte Rose Kelly. The 10K and 5K road races and 5K walk will be held again this year on Sunday, April 7.
Charlotte, the inspiration behind the races that will begin and end at Granite Grill, lost her two-and-a-half-year battle with Neuroblastoma on December 7, 2011.
Prayers for Charlotte is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, operated completely by volunteers, organizes the Run for Charlotte. Since 2011, Prayers for Charlotte has sponsored $75,000 in research grants and allocated over $25,000 to families battling cancer.
Pre-registration for the event is $30 and must be done before April 1. The youth division race, for ages 13-17, is $20 per entrant. Entry is $35 the day of the race.
Long sleve moisture wicking shirts are guaranteed for the first 800 participants to register.
Pre-registered runners can pick up their shirts and numbers on Saturday, April 6, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Granite Grill. Race Day registration will take place from 7 to 9:30 a.m. at Granite Grill.
