Wrong Turn Leads Driver Onto Braintree MBTA Tracks: MBTA Police

Braintree Line service was delayed on Friday night after a Massachusetts man drove onto the tracks, MBTA Transit Police said.

BRAINTREE, MA — The driver of a minivan caused delays on the MBTA Braintree Line after a wrong turn led him onto the Red Line tracks, MBTA Transit Police said.

According to officials, a 51-year-old Weymouth man told police he "missed his turn" and ended up on the tracks near Commercial Street at 5 p.m. on Friday.

The incident caused damage to the signal box on the tracks and the tire of the driver's vehicle. No one was injured, however, and the car was towed off the tracks.
