2-Alarm Fire On Russett Road Put Out, VFW Parkway Back Open
A fire broke out in a Brookline home early Monday morning.

BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline firefighters put out a two-alarm fire at a home on Russett Road early Monday morning.
Just before 7 a.m. firefighters were called to the home in South Brookline. When they got there they found a kitchen fire had spread out of the kitchen.
Photos show smoke rising from the home not far from the VFW Parkway. Police closed down a lane on the parkway and shut down Russett Road as crews worked to put out the flames at the one and a half story wood-frame home.

Cambridge firefighters were called in to help out.
By 8:05 a.m. Brookline Police indicated the flames had been put out. Around 10:15 a.m. police scanner radio indicated the roadways were back open and the last firetruck was preparing to leave.

It's unclear how much damage was done.
