Boston College Student Brings Boston Marathon Tribute to London

Training for a marathon is tough enough as it is, but Boston College Law School student Barrett Wilson-Murphy faced a few extra challenges before the London Marathon on Sunday, April 21. 

As reported in a recent Boston Globe story, Wilson-Murphy, who is studying in London this semester, wanted to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings by wearing the iconic yellow-and-blue Boston Marathon jersey in the London Marathon. 

The challenge? Getting a shirt to him on time. 

According to the Globe report, Wilson-Murphy's sister spread the word online and searched for a shirt, an item only given out to official Boston Marathon race runners. Once she acquired a shirt, she handed it off to a family friend and flight attendant who was scheduled for a trip to London Friday night, less than two days before the London Marathon.

In addition to the yellow-and-blue runner's shirt, Wilson-Murphy wore a Boston Marathon hat in Sunday's race, according to the Globe. All runners in the London Marathon also wore a black ribbon in honor of the Boston Marathon bombing victims.
