Brookline Candidate Meetings Go Online Ahead Of June Election
This year's annual election is already shaping up to look different.

BROOKLINE, MA — With less than a month before Brookline voters cast ballots in the Annual Town Election, this is the time for lawn signs and candidate meet-and-greets. Only, with the current health emergency, the community meetings with candidates are looking a bit different.
In March, the Select Board voted to postpone the municipal election from May 5 to June 9. Town Meeting is also being rescheduled from May 19 - 21 to June 23 - 25, and may include an option for Town Meeting members to participate and vote remotely.
And now, several precincts will be holding virtual community meetings this weekend to meet and engage with candidates in advance of the Annual Town Election on June 9, as well as for residents to voice concerns and ask questions.

Three School Committee members are up for reelection but no one is contesting those seats. Four people are running uncontested to the Trustees of the Public Library and no one is running against Barbara Gugan for a seat at the Housing Authority.
There are also contested races for Town Meeting Members in precincts 1, 3,4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 14.
