Brookline To Hold Ribbon-Cutting For 7 New EV Charging Stations

BROOKLINE, MA — The Town of Brookline is inviting the public, especially those with electric vehicles (EVs), to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the town's seven new EV charging stations.

The event, presented by the Department of Public Works (DPW), is scheduled for 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the site of the charging stations: the Kent/Webster Place parking lot in Brookline Village, located near the intersection of Harvard Street and Webster Place. The ribbon-cutting is set for 3:15 p.m.

In addition to the ribbon-cutting, the ceremony will feature remarks by Chas Cary, town administrator, and Erin Chute, commissioner of the DPW.

According to town officials, the new stations are part of the town's first large-scale EV charging project. The project was completed in collaboration with EV charging solutions company Greenspot and Evensource.

"Accessible EV charging stations are an important step in moving towards Brookline's climate goals," Chute said. “We are excited to have completed this project and we look forward to celebrating with the community at the ribbon-cutting ceremony."
