Brookline Officers Recreate 'Abbey Road' Image For Pride Month

Brookline police recreated the iconic photo of the Beatles on a crosswalk colored for a Pride Month.

BROOKLINE, MA — This week, the police department grabbed four officers and snapped a shot of them walking in the newly painted rainbow crosswalk near the police station.

"Taking a step towards equality. Happy Pride Month from the men and women of the Brookline Police," the department posted.

It was a popular move. The post was shared more than 100 times in less than 24 hours.

Community members painted the "Pride Crosswalk" in front of Brookline's Town Hall, and just down the street from the police headquarters in honor of LGBTQ Pride month in an effort to highlight Brookline's commitment to supporting equal rights.

The Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Community Relations, along with the Department of Public Works and the Select Board all supported the June 2, community painting event.
