Brookline Select Board Preview: VineRipe Grill, Disparity Report
The Brookline Select Board will also discuss next steps with the Gateway East project, elections and budgets.

BROOKLINE, MA — The Brookline Select Board is convening for its weekly meeting Tuesday at 5 p.m., with no shortage of items to discuss. Here's a short list of some of the items on the agenda:
- Agreement between the town and Brookline Center for Community Health: Question of authorizing the chair or his designee to execute an amendment to the Sept. 6, 2020 agreement between the Town of Brookline and the Brookline Center for Community Health to allow for a change in project scope.
- New roof for Brookline Improvement Coalition: The Brookline Improvement Coalition (BIC) is replacing its roof at its 154-156 Boylston St. property. They just need approval from the board on a $59,250 developer agreement.
- Gateway East Project: A $63,100 contract with Vanasee Hangen Brustlin, Inc is up for approval so they can make additional traffic and civil engineering services.
- Library wants a librarian: The library is coming before the board to request authorization to hire a reference librarian.
- New Public Health Inspector: The health department is looking to hire a senior public health inspector for the environmental division, and they want authorization to hire.
- Polling location changes, early voting: The town clerk's office is requesting that Precinct 15's polling location move from the Baker School to Fire Station #6, and for in-person early voting for the Annual Town Election to take place at the Brookline Town Hall in Room 103 on Saturday, April 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday, April 27 and Thursday, April 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Community Disparity report: The Disparity Report Working Group from the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Relations is reporting.
- Golf Course Restaurant discussion: After major pushback from fans of VineRipe Grill who found out the municipal golf course restaurant that's been there for some 13 years might not get its contract reviewed, they had questions. The Park and Recreation Commission held public hearing in an effort to address some of those questions and listen to concerns, but now the Select Board wants to hear more. A "discussion" is set for 6 p.m. surrounding the selection of a vendor for the golf course food service contract.
- Disruptions: There will be a public hearing on whether the board should approve Eversource Energy's request to for work on conduit locations in Salisbury Road and Williston Road to upgrade underground system reliability on Salisbury Road; in Hyslop Road and Chestnut Hill Avenue to upgrade underground system reliability on Hyslop Road; and in Griggs Ten-ace to upgrade underground system reliability on Griggs Terrace. This is set to begin at 7 p.m.
- Money, money, money: Review of the FY22 Departmental Budgets for the Department of Public Works, Water and Sewer Division, the Building Department, and the Planning and Community Development Department.
- Ahead of the 2021 Annual Town Meeting in May: Several warrant articles will be discussed from one on racial equity expenditures to bylaws on outdoor dining and speed regulations.
