Chris Zannetos Makes Bid For Congress
Zannetos joins a crowded field —of mostly Brookline and Newton residents —vying for Rep. Joe Kennedy's fourth Congressional seat.

BROOKLINE, MA — A Welleseley man announced he, too, will be on the September ballot in the race to take Rep. Joe Kennedy's seat in the Fourth Congressional District.
Chris Zannetos, a tech entrepreneur, said he was able to get the number of signatures required to appear on the primary ballot
"We are grateful for such overwhelming support from voters in the district, resulting in twice as
many signatures as required," said Zannetos who is running on a platform to reduce the income and opportunity gaps created by the "technology revolution."

Zannetos, who has founded and lead at least two tech companies, said a path forward is to invest in training and retraining workers "to succeed in the 21st century economy."

Ihssane Leckey, of Brookline, was the first to declare she was running in May 2019, expecting to challenge Kennedy. Brookline resident Alan Khazei, who co-founded City Year, announced his candidacy that September. In October, former Brookline Selectwoman Jesse Mermell became the third Brookline resident to announce she was running, followed by Dave Cavell. Newton City Councilors Becky Walker Grossman and Jake Auchincloss also both jumped in the race.

- Tom Shack, of Brookline (Dropped out, endorsed Cavell.)
- Ben Sigel, of Brookline
- Chris Zannetos, of Wellesley
The Republican candidate is Julie Hall, of Attleboro.
The 4th Congressional District includes parts of Bristol, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth and Worcester counties. Before Kennedy was elected in 2012, Barney Frank held the seat since 1981.
