BROOKLINE, MA — The following are examples of the types of called that the Brookline Police department responded to this week, including pot smokers in an alley and the mysterious presence of a cone on a car. All information was taken from public logs or arrest reports.
Saturday, June 22
Package gone: A parkway Road resident called to report a package theft. Someone else reported a package was stolen from them on White Place, and thought they saw it posted to Facebook.
Bite: A Glenland Road resident called to report her dog was bitten by another dog on Heath Street.

Hit and Run: Someone called to report a hit-and-run along Stanton Road.
Stolen: A Roxbury resident came into the station to report his bike was stolen from the Longwood storage company on Station Street sometime after 10 a.m. The bike is described as a Nisshike Colorado, and upgraded to a Shaman Decore XT.

Call 911: Someone called to report a man with shaggy hair wearing an army green jacket and blue flannel was yelling outside on Thorndike Street to call 911. Someone was taken to St. Elizabeth's hospital.
Arrest: Two people were reported yelling at one another on the 1300 block of Beacon Street. Avinash Raman, 42, of Arlington was arrested at 4:51 a.m. He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and with disturbing the peace.
Sunday, June 23
Found: Someone reported they found a set of Volvo keys on the street near Rawson Road.
Yelling: Someone called to report a man and a woman yelling at each other and a car door slamming just before midnight. Police talked with them.
Dragged: Multiple people called around 10:30 p.m. to report they saw a white Toyota Sienna driving with a dog being dragged outside of the car from the circle down Beacon Street. They then reported they saw the dog being taken into a home on Beacon Street.
Weird questions: A Clinton Road resident reported a woman wearing black pants, and black shirt was knocking on people's doors just after 7 a.m. and "asking weird questions."
Smoking: Someone reported four men smoking pot in an alley on Washington Street.
Fire: Someone called to report a fire in the manhole near the corner of Beacon and Washington streets.
Monday, June 24
Flattened: A Griggs Road resident reported someone had flattened five tires on two of their cars.
Mystery: A Clark Road resident called to report some suspicious activity: An orange cone was "mysteriously placed on his vehicle."
Fox: Two people called to report an injured fox by the Allerton Overlook.
Scooter danger: Someone called to report a guy on a motorized scooter was not wearing his helmet and almost ran into her and her dog.
Leaf blower drama: A Parkman Street resident called to report he was physically assaulted after a leaf blower dispute - another man "bumped his chest into him." Both called police. Police came and talked to them, but no one was sited.
Tuesday, June 25
Suspicious: A Harvard Place resident called to report around 5:30 a.m. she heard a noise in her living room, and then found a window open and the screen missing. She later found it outside around the corner.
And then: Just before 6 a.m. police responded to a radio call for an attempted breaking and entering on Park Street. The reporting party explained that he woke up around 5 a.m. to the sound of his dog barking in the kitchen. This was odd for his dog so he took it out for a walk. When he returned at 5 a.m. he noticed the window was half way up and a small potted plant was in the parking lot behind his house. The reporting party believes someone was attempting to break in when his dog scared them away. Police are investigating this case.
Car doors: Someone reported seeing a man on Kent Street trying to open car doors, they described him as having black hair in a pony tail and wearing a black shirt, Adidas pants and a backpack. Police noted they made an arrest in relation to this. Police arrested Felipe Deandrade, 22, of Dorchester shortly after at 3:27 a.m. and charged with attempting to commit a crime (breaking into a car at night with intent to commit a felony) and trespassing.
Marijuana: Someone complained that a group of teens were smoking pot inside Corey Hill Park on Summit Avenue.
Wednesday, June 26
Car break ins: At least seven people reported cars were broken into, four of them were on Summit Avenue, one was on Jordan Road, another on Westbourne Terrace and one on Hennessy Road.
Stolen: A St. Paul Street resident called to report a laptop was stolen. Another person on Boylston Street called to report a package theft.
Peter cottontail: Someone passing by reported an injured bunny on Stedman Street.
Swastika: A citizen came to the police station to report malicious damage to his car while it was parked on Washington Street. At 10 a.m. he noticed several scratches appeared to have been made by a key near his trunk area. Upon close look, the scratch marks resembled a swastika symbol. Police said this case is being investigated.
Are you missing a violin?: Police responded to the Pierce School Playground for a report of found property. Upon arrival, the officer found an open black violin case with a Rayburn violin inside. The case and violin were on the ground near the side of the building. The violin is missing its bridge and has only one string remaining. The item has been placed into evidence for safe keeping.
Thursday, June 27
Assault: Police were dispatched to a care facility on Babcock Street for a report of an assault and battery. The reporting party was threatened and struck by a man. Officers noticed red marks on the reporting party’s neck. The suspect was arrested for threats to commit a crime, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery on an elderly person.
Arrest: Brendan Oconnell, 36, of Bishop Allen Drive, was arrested at 7:50 a.m. and charged on an outstanding warrant for negligent operation of a car, OUI of drugs, an improper turn and failure to stop for police.
Warrant: Carlos Carrion, 55, of Cambridge was arrested on a warrant out of Somerville District Court, West Roxbury District Court and Brookline District court.
