Fatal Bike Crash in Brookline: Police

The victim has been identified only as a 40-year-old Brookline resident.

BROOKLINE, MA — A cyclist has died, after being discovered on the ground at the corner of Carlton and Colchester Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Brookline Police have not yet released the victim's identity, stating only that he is a 40-year-old Brookline resident.

According to police, the cyclist was discovered just after 2 a.m. by a passing driver, suffering from what appeared to be serious head trauma. Police did not say whether the cyclist was wearing a bike helmet.

He was treated on the scene, then taken to the Beth Israel Deaconess hospital, where he died.
