Five Things, May 17: "Sleeping Beauty" by National Marionette Theatre

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a sunny day with a high near 68. The evening will cool down to 52.
2. Katrina Majkut Opening: On Friday May 17th, 2013 painter Katrina Majkut will open an exhibition on her paintings at the Brookline Arts Center. The title of her show, “Ride” reflects the subject of her show, Carousel Horses.

Puppet Showplace Theatre presents "Sleeping Beauty" by National Marionette Theatre: Told from the prince's point of view, this breath-taking production combines beautifully crafted marionettes with the timeless music of Tchaikovsky's "Sleeping Beauty" ballet. Marionettes. Recommended for ages 4 and up.
5. Rick Olsen to perform at EPOCH: Musician Rick Olsen will perform at EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Chestnut Hill on Friday, May 17 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Olsen is known as “The Man of a Thousand Songs” for his extensive repertoire of country ballads, Irish tunes and popular standards for the mid twentieth century. This performance is free and open to the public.
