Here are five things going on in town today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a warm day with a high of 78 and a chance of rain. The evening will cool down to 61 and there is a chance of rain, too.

2. Write Your Own Craft Book Panel: Join Abby Glassenberg (The Artful Bird, Stuffed Animals), Kari Chapin (Grow Your Handmade Business), Stacey Trock (Crocheted Softies), Jennifer Urban-Brown (editor at Roost Books), and Virginia Johnson, owner of Cambridge's Gather Here as they discuss how to write your own craft book.

3. Puppet Showplace Theatre presents "Advanced Shadow Puppetry Workshop" by Brad Shur: Participants will explore advanced mechanisms and building techniques using hinges, rivets, springs and slides crafted from durable materials to create professional quality shadow puppets. Then participants will focus on performance skills and visual storytelling to create an original short piece.
