Jennifer Paster Promoted To Brookline Chief Of Police
Paster is the first woman to hold the title of Chief of Police in Brookline's history.

BROOKLINE, MA – Jennifer Paster has been promoted to Chief of Police for the Brookline Police Department, and is the first woman to hold the title in Brookline’s history, police said over Twitter.
Paster was promoted to the chief of police position on April 25th by the Brookline select board.
She was born and raised in Brookline and graduated from Brookline High School before joining the Brookline Police Department in 2000.

She has worked in law enforcement for 22 years, and has climbed the ranks at the Brookline Police Department to become sergeant in 2011, lieutenant in 2017, and in 2021 she became the first female police officer in the department’s history to be promoted to deputy superintendent. She has been the acting chief of police in Brookline since August of 2022.
“It has been a great pleasure to work beside Jen for the past 24 years,” Deputy Superintendent Paul Campbell said in the Twitter video announcement.

During her career, Paster has worked in the administration as the accreditation manager and on the detective division, community service division, and the patrol division.
In 2013, she co-founded the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), which has expanded within the department and throughout the region.
