2. Brookline Commission for the Arts Spring Reception: Brookline Commission for the Arts (BCA) honors recipients of its 2013 Massachusetts Cultural Council grants at a reception in Hunneman Hall at Brookline Main Public Library, Tuesday, May 14, 6 to 8:00 p.m.

3. Jane Gardam - Last Friends (In conversation with Audrey Schulman):: Staff favorite Jane Gardam presents the last volume of her acclaimed and much loved Old Filthtrilogy, a tale of love, friendship, and bittersweet experience. She chronicles the story of brilliant Terry Veneering, Old Filth’s greatest rival at the Brookline Booksmith. 

4. POETRY BROOKLINE: Poetry Brookline is a new project that invites you to create and submit poems, songs, and art about Brookline places or people. Judy Steinbergh, Brookline poet laureate, will be collecting works, by and for those of every age who live, learn, work or play in Brookline, to display on posters and broadsheets around town, and hopefully to culminate in a Poetry Map of Brookline designed as a mural.

5. Bill Foley to perform at Boylston Place: Accomplished singer and guitarist Bill Foley will perform at EPOCH Assisted Living at Boylston Place, 615 Heath St., on Tuesday, May 14 at 3:30 p.m. The energetic performer is a favorite at EPOCH.
