“High Times is hyped to bring Cannabis Cup back to Massachusetts to give thousands of cannabis consumers the chance to taste, review, and score the best products in the state,” Mark Kazinec, the High Times Director of Events and Competitions, said in a statement.

"Massachusetts is home to unique cannabis brands with discerning taste in products and some of the coolest packaging in the nation,” Kazinec added. "It’s a fun event for judges, but also a sampling dream for competitors because it gives local brands the opportunity to reach thousands of new customers, receive feedback on their products and potentially walk away with a coveted Cannabis Cup award. We expect huge lines at retailers across the state when kits hit shelves on Saturday, September 24.”

The 2,200 available judging kits will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Priced between $100-$300 depending on the category, they include a range of 7-28 different product samples. Judging kits will come in a smell-resistant High Times backpack, complete with judging samples and a scorecard pass that gives judges access to the online judging portal.

Judges will have until Nov 13 to give detailed comments on aesthetics, aroma, taste and effects of each product. Winners will be announced on Nov. 27 during the virtual High Times Cannabis Cup Massachusetts Awards Show.

Massachusetts Cannabis Cup is presented by AYR Wellness and made possible by official intake partner NETA and sponsors like Green Gold Group, Happy Valley, Berkshire Roots and Coast Cannabis Co.
