Police: Driver Caught with Taser, Open Container

A Dorchester Man was arrested Friday night after police said they found a Taser and an open bottle of alcohol in his car.
At about 2:20 a.m. on May 10, an unmarked Brookline Police Officer observed two vehicles turn right onto Pleasant Street from Commonwealth Avenue and head right on Freeman Street and park before Craig Place. One of the cars had a rejection sticker.
At 3:10 a.m., the officer reportedly saw several people get into the vehicle and head down Babcock Street from Freeman Street. The officer pulled the vehicle over and told the driver that he pulled him over because of the sticker. The driver said that the vehicle belonged to his girlfriend and that they were heading to her house in Mattapan.

The officer ran the driver’s information and found that the driver had a suspended license and that there was a warrant out for his arrest.
The officer arrested Eric Jones, 35, of 16 Annapolis Road, Dorchester and charged him with operating a motor vehicle after a suspension and for the warrant.

Officers searched the car and found a Taser, a full and sealed bottle of Cognac, and a Snapple Iced Tea bottle with enough liquid in it for the officer to detect “a strong odor of alcohol.”
Jones was charged with having a failed inspection sticker, operating after a license suspension, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, possession of a stun gun/Taser.
