Today is Wednesday, May 29. Here are 5 things you need to know:
- Showers and possible t-storms: Looks like it could be a wet day today. According to the National Weather Service we have an 80 percent chance of showers and a chance of thunderstorms today. Some storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. High near 72 degrees. Chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight as well with a low around 60 degrees.
- Relay for Life: There will be a meeting for the Burlington Relay for Life at 5:45 p.m. this evening in the Burlington Public Library. This meeting will distribute materials, collect donations, forms and other paperwork, and address any concerns attendees may have regarding this community fundraising event.
- Book discussion: The library is also hosting a book discussion of Simon Mawer's "The Glass Room" at 7 p.m. this evening. The book was described by one reviewer as "a near perfect novel of architecture, art and love."
- Weight Watchers: There will be a Weight Watchers meeting at 5:30 p.m. this evening in the Burlington American Legion. "Come and find help and support on your weight loss journey from your local team at Weight Watchers."
- Boxing class: Empire Sports Club is holding an introductory boxing class at 6 p.m. today for people of all ages. Price is $10.
