Local Dance Studio to Host Benefit for Marathon Bombing Victim

Following the tragic events at the Boston Marathon, the local dance community has come together to support one of its own affected by the bombings, Adrianne Haslet-Davis. Arthur Murray Dance Centers in the Boston area will host a fundraising gala to benefit the Fund for Adrianne on June 15 at Lombardo’s in Randolph. Haslet-Davis has been a long-time dance instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Boston. The gala will feature live music and dancing performances from members of the local dance community. Arthur Murray Dance Centers also has a location in Burlington.

Haslet-Davis and her husband Adam were both severely injured in the Boston Marathon bombing. Since then, the Fund for Adrianne was established to help cover the couple’s medical costs resulting from the bombing.

“We are all inspired by Adrianne’s courage through this tragic event and want to help her family during this difficult time,” said Mark Lightner, president, Arthur Murray Dance Centers of Boston. “Adrianne is an amazing dance instructor and beloved member of the Arthur Murray family. We hope this event will make a difference in funding her recovery, as well as provide inspiration to those in attendance.”

The gala has two ticket options, VIP and general admittance. The VIP option includes a three course dinner, wine, hors d’oeuvres and a live jazz trio, followed by the evening reception with live music, entertainment and dancing. Price for the VIP ticket is $200.  General admission tickets for admittance to the evening reception are $50. WCVB-TV anchor Susan Wornick will serve as the gala’s emcee and the fundraiser will also feature additional invited guests and surprises that will be announced closer to the event.

”We are especially grateful to the Lombardo family for donating the event space for this gala. It will be a wonderful evening of music, dancing and fun,” Lightner continued.
