Burlington 2022 Election Results: Voters Reject CPA, Support Moulton
Burlington said "no" to the the Community Preservation Act while backing Rep. Seth Moulton this week. See preliminary 2022 voting results:

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington voters said “no” to a local ballot question Tuesday asking whether the town should adopt the state’s Community Preservation Act, according to unofficial election results.
The question, results showed, failed by a margin of 6,327 votes to 4,157.
Under a town plan, Burlington’s version of the CPA would have added a 1.5% surcharge on local property taxes beginning in 2024. Surcharge revenue would have pooled with state contributions from a state fund to support eligible affordable housing, historic preservation and outdoor recreation projects in Burlington.

The measure had supporters, with arguments in favor of a a “yes” vote saying, in part, that the money would go to areas where it is badly needed.
As supporters made their case, opponents pushing for a “no” on Burlington’s 2022 CPA question voiced their own concerns, discussing the possible impact of increased tax bills for local residents, among other things.

Moulton Projected Winner In Congressional Race
Outside of Burlington’s CPA question and statewide races, local voters had a hand in settling a contested race to represent Massachusetts’ Sixth Congressional District.
Local voters followed district-wide trends to pick incumbent and Democrat Seth Moulton over challengers Bob May and Mark Tashjian.
NBC News projected Moulton as the winner of his race on Wednesday night. Moulton separately spoke to Patch about next steps in Congress this week, acknowledging the prospect of control of the House of Representatives potentially flipping to the Republican Party while discussing ways that Congress can address topics such as immigration reform, inflation, and energy prices.
