Burlington Advises Residents On Coyote Awareness
Coyotes are "a natural part of Burlington's environment," and the town has advice on reducing "unwanted encounters."
BURLINGTON, MA — The town is advising residents as the new year begins regarding "increased coyote activity around town."
The town said a "few simple precautions can help reduce unwanted encounters":
- Keep dogs leashed at all times
- Don’t allow pets to roam freely
- Secure trash, compost, and other food sources
- Bring cats indoors or closely supervise outdoor time
"If you encounter a coyote, remain calm and confident," the town wrote. "Make yourself appear larger and use your voice or other loud noises to encourage it to move along."
