Burlington Among Top 1% In National Best Small Cities Ranking
Burlington was recognized by the personal finance website WalletHub in its 2022 round of rankings.

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington is one of the "best small cities" in the United States, according to a new ranking from the personal finance website WalletHub.
The town beat out a number of other Massachusetts communities on the list, ranking behind only Lexington, Melrose, Needham, Milton and Arlington within Massachusetts.
Burlington was listed 18th overall out of well over 1,000 communities included in the ranking.

Rankings came out on Tuesday. An annual WalletHub product, these rankings accounted for factors ranging from housing costs to school-system quality to restaurants per capita, as noted on the WalletHub website.
Rankings specifically evaluated communities based on criteria in four categories including affordability, economic health, education and health and safety. WalletHub rated Burlington most highly in its education and health category, which looks at factors including the quality of public schools, access to healthy foods and rates of physical activity.

Burlington also scored highly in economic health and safety categories.
Lancaster, Penn. ranked as the best overall small city in the United States. Other high ranking Massachusetts communities below Burlington included Newton, Randolph, Medford and Reading.
