Burlington Announces Sensory Friendly Truck Day

The event will feature an array of trucks without using horns, lights or loud sirens that some guests might otherwise find overwhelming.

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington will offer a sensory friendly truck day event this week prior to its already planned Truck Day on Sunday, the town Parks and Recreation Department announced on Monday.

Set for Friday, Sept. 16 at the Burlington Town Common, the event will run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
It will feature a broad array of trucks. There won’t be horns, loud sirens or flashing lights, though, in an effort to accommodate visitors who might get overwhelmed by those sensory experiences.

Anyone with questions about the event can contact Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Emma Jones by phone at 781-270-1695 or by email at ejones@burlington.org.
