Burlington Group Plans Diwali Celebration
The event will feature Indian music, dance, food and more.
BURLINGTON, MA — A celebration of the festival of Diwali will come to the Burlington Town Common on Sunday, Sept. 25, the town announced last week.
The celebration is set to begin at 3 p.m. It is organized by the local group Indian Americans for Burlington.
The celebration will feature “the traditions, aesthetics and grandeur of unique and diverse Indian sub-cultures,” as noted in last week’s event announcement.

There will be Indian music to accompany dance performances as well as items for sale at stalls from various boutique vendors and local organizations.
The event will additionally feature food, serving an array of Indian cuisine.

Organizers will decorate the Town Common gazebo around this year’s theme of “Samya,” representing equal consideration for all human beings.
Diwali exhibitions and stalls, including food stalls, will open at 3 p.m. The cultural program will begin at 3:30 p.m. before an Aakash Pradip/Tree Lighting at 6:30 p.m., according to a flyer from event organizers.
