Burlington Man Charged With Stealing Over $600K in Legos and Books

A Burlington man has been charged in U.S. District Court on charges related to stealing toys and books and selling them online.

According to the Boston Herald, John C. Strang, 67, of Burlington, was charged yesterday with one count of insterstate transportation of stolen property.

Accord to the Herald, Strang is accused of stealing an estimated $600,000 worth of Lego toys and books in stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire over a period of several years. It is not clear when he will be arraigned.

The Herald states that the prosecutors charge document states that between 2007 and this year, Strang allegedly stole from retail stores. He is charged with stealing audio books and Lego products and selling them online at a 40-50 percent discount. Prosecutors say Strang was making about $4,000 a month from the scam.
