Burlington Plans 50th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration
The event will feature fireworks, entertainment and more alongside the tree lighting itself.
BURLINGTON, MA - Burlington will mark a milestone this weekend when it convenes for its 50th annual Tree Lighting celebration.
The event is set for Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. at the Burlington Town Common.
Officials announced plans on Monday, promising a variety of amenities and attractions. Programming will include entertainment, the town said, alongside fireworks. Santa Claus is also scheduled to pay a visit.

Santa is scheduled to help light the common around 5 p.m. The fireworks display will follow the lighting, with fireworks launching from Simonds Park.
Simonds Park is scheduled to close at 11 a.m. on Sunday ahead of evening festivities. Officials on Saturday said the Town Common will be the best place to view fireworks.

The Tree Lighting is organized by the Burlington Parks and Recreation Department, with backing from various community organizations.
A rain date is set for Tuesday, Dec. 6.
